7 Hotels With Overwater Bungalows in the Caribbean

Sandals Grande St. Lucian, St. Lucia

Escape to Sandals Grande St. Lucian, an adults-only all-inclusive located on the idyllic island of St. Lucia. Here, you and your partner can soak up the suite life in one of the Over-the-Water Honeymoon Butler Bungalows. These incredible overwater villas offer glass-bottom floor panels, a two-person outdoor soaking tub or over-water hammocks, bespoke King-sized beds, and vaulted ceilings for ample natural light. The private patio features a sun deck (plus plush loungers) and an outdoor shower. Plus, you’ll have your own personal butler to cater to your every need. 

Aruba Ocean Villas, Aruba

Aruba Ocean Villas in Savaneta is the island nation’s only property with overwater bungalows. The boutique, adults-only hotel currently consists of nine villas; however, 15 new units are currently under construction. All accommodations offer an open-concept layout, as well as beautiful canopy beds and postcard-worthy ocean views. Since each villa is distinctively designed, they all offer slightly different amenities. These can include outdoor showers, outdoor Jacuzzis, a private dining area, fully furnished decks (complete with a staircase that leads to the ocean), palapa lounges, soaking tubs, and private plunge pools. 

Amanyara, Turks and Caicos

Those in search of seclusion can visit Amanyara in Turks and Caicos. The property is ideally situated between a nature reserve, white-and beaches, beautiful flora, and a marine national park. Amanyara is best known for its lavish accommodations, many of which have luxe amenities that include everything from wooden decks and free-standing tubs to private gardens and beach pathways. (A handful of them have private pools, too!) Don’t sleep on the resort’s 700-square-foot timber-shingled pavillions, some of which seem to perfectly float alongside lush vegetation and tranquil ponds. Each offers an expansive wooden deck, plenty of natural light-filled rooms, King-sized beds, and an oversized soaking tub for optimal R&R. 

Royalton Antigua, Antigua

Nestled along the scenic shorelines of Deep Bay, the Chairman’s Overwater Bungalows at Royalton Antigua are truly one of a kind. Each offers pristine Caribbean Sea views, plus incredible amenities like private transfers, express check-in, a welcome glass of bubbly, and butler service. The villas are outfitted with spectacular touches like swim-out infinity plunge pools, Jacuzzis, over-water hammocks, and glass-bottom floors–the latter of which allow you to admire the vibrant marine life lying below. Guests who stay here also receive free snorkeling gear, bar service on the terrace during sunset, a romantic dinner (served from the comfort of your bungalow, of course), and a personal yoga and fitness instructor. 

Sandals South Coast, Jamaica

The all-inclusive, adults-only Sandals South Coast in Jamaica offers 12 overwater villas designed to form the shape of the heart, making them the perfect choice for honeymoons. Plus, they’re situated along a 500-acre nature preserve for ultimate seclusion. Take in the serene views from the comfort of your two-person soaking tub, which is located on the private patio. Alternatively, relax on the over-water hammock or hop straight into the sea from your swim-up platform. The extravagant interiors are equipped with glass-bottom floors and oversized, spa-inspired bathrooms. The personalized butler service is the icing on the cake.

Wymara Villas, Turks and Caicos

The secluded and luxurious Wymara Villas are just minutes away from the property’s main resort on Grace Bay Beach. There are four villas total, all of which overlook clear-blue waters. The accommodations span multiple stories, and each has its own over-the-water swimming platform that offers direct ocean access. In addition to the dreamy all-white facades and beachy-chic interiors, the main draw is each villa’s infinity-edge ocean pool. Guests also enjoy access to the on-site Villa Sports Club, which has tennis courts, a state-of-the-art sauna and steam room, a 25-meter lap pool, and a splashy arcade room. 

Sandals Royal Caribbean, Jamaica

Relaxation awaits at Sandals Royal Caribbean, an adults-only, all-inclusive oasis. The overwater villas here are actually located on the resort’s exclusive private island, which is just a short boat ride away from the main property (private water taxi service is included). The villas are outfitted with glass-bottom floors, over-water hammocks, private infinity pools, and wooden King-sized beds. Your stay also includes personalized butler service. Meanwhile, the Honeymoon Bungalows are somehow even more spectacular–offering all of the aforementioned amenities plus furnished decks, private patios, and, most notably, a two-person soaking overlooking the Caribbean Sea.
